Dear Diary,
President Johnson is doing a wonderful job as our new president. He has put together something new called the Great Society. The Great Society is programs with two goals: to eliminate poverty and racial injustice. This is great because now maybe I can get a job and start making some money! I really hope that these programs work out and they reach their goals that they are going after. This could really help the United States of America and do some good for the people. This could really change people’s perspective of Johnson and what he can do for this country. He said that he would like to install a welfare plan that will pay all of the unemployed people and we will be able to eat and survive. It is clear that President Johnson really cares about the people and wants to do right by the U.S.A.. He wants people to like him and setting up these programs is a really good way to do it.
Dear Diary,
Life can only get better from here on out. President Johnson is establishing new programs to help out all the African American people in the United States. It wants to change racial injustice and put the people away who treat us like we are beneath them and are not equal. I have lived in America my whole life and I am still not equal with a white man who has lived here his whole life, too? Well I am glad that the government is still trying to put a stop to that and might actually do it. I really hope that these programs happen because I think I deserve a better life. I work so hard every day for so little and there is nothing I can ever do about it. Life is so tough and this would just make it a little easier on me and everyone else that is in my shoes. We would be able to live like all of the middle class people in America. If President Johnson passes these, he will be my favorite president. Although I did love Kennedy, this would make Johnson my favorite.
Dear Diary,
I am so stressed out. I have so much to do and I must make money to pay for the house but I just can’t find a babysitter. But I did hear that President Johnson is putting together some new programs that would provide parent involvement services for people who don’t make that much money. So it sounds like he made this program just for me! It’s exactly what I need to be able to feed my children and make money at the same time without having to worry about who is watching them. I am so extremely happy that Johnson is doing this for the people just because of how much good it is going to do for America. I never thought that Johnson would be able to take Kennedy place but if these programs pass, he will be doing well on behalf of JFK. I’m sure he is looking down from heaven and is ecstatic at what Johnson is doing with the United States of America.
